I am Dr. Neeraj Gupta, currently holding the position of a Associate Professor with an MD degree in Medical Biochemistry from the Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India, and PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand.
My primary role includes teaching, research and clinical laboratory management roles. I have contributed to notable publications, enriching the discourse in my field both as an author and a collaborator.
Noteworthy achievements include a clinical thesis investigating the role of serum adenosine deaminase in Pregnancy-induced Hypertension, during my MD training. Subsequently, my PhD research explored the intricate connections between polyamines and age-associated cognitive decline, resulting in multiple international publications and presentations at esteemed conferences, such as AWCBR in Queenstown, New Zealand, and the Society of Neuroscience in Chicago, USA.
During my MD program, I gained three years of invaluable experience in a clinical hospital laboratory, developing expertise in interpreting clinical and health data. This period also marked my initiation into basic research, laying the foundation for my focus on memory and learning in the pursuit of a PhD. My research involves innovative approaches, utilising Sprague Dawley and Long-Evans rat models to explore potential dietary supplements for age-related cognitive decline and a potential solution for the ageing population.
